I tried to contact and email mental health organizations in my area. I was trying to look for volunteer work. I was attempting to offer my graphic design services to established mental health organizations in the Chicagoland area. My idea is that I could do the work “remotely” from my home office. I would take direction via phone and emails. I had four organizations interested. I was re working one organizations mental health brochure. I worked many weeks on it. But the project lost steam because the lady at the organization stopped communicating with me and stopped any feedback. So I deleted all the work I did. All the files were deleted.
I had three other smaller projects that I completed, then never heard from them again. My idea was to use my volunteer work to possibly network remotely. Maybe this idea would lead to actual paid work. It all dissolved. My efforts evaporated. The other parties just stopped calling me, and stopped giving me feedback. I feel kinda bad now.
Since February 10th 2015, I have been unemployed. Meeting people in person for the purpose of job networking has never been my strong suite. I would eventually like to start a few job or project relationships with various, established companies or organizations. I know the work could be done remotely, so I could look outside the Chicagoland area. The trick, I guess is finding organizations that will provide a solid partnership when it comes to projects. I know I could produce quality results. The trick is finding places that want and need and value my time and effort.
I suppose I could try doing more Google searches on organizations. Currently, I am kinda timid on trying to email places again though. I don’t want to be disappointed again. I am kinda down about my work situation currently.
